Inshore waters from Lyttelton Harbour to the Waimakariri River mouth.

Situation:

A ridge of high pressure builds over most of New Zealand today, then moves north on Wednesday as northwesterlies strengthen over the South Island ahead of an approaching front. The front moves north reaching central New Zealand by the end of Thursday, followed by a west to southwesterly flow, while a trough affects the upper North Island. The front crosses the North Island on Friday and the southwesterly flow behind it eases.
